Fjöruborðið

Fjöruborðið langoustine restaurant is a wonderful restaurant located in the small village of Stokkseyri in South Iceland. It sits in corrugated iron houses, just above the village harbour and is filled with the smell of the ocean. The atmosphere is warm and wonderful and the service is friendly and personal.

Their menu is simple and they specialize in langoustines. They are known for their magical langoustine soup, which is unbelievably delicious, so very much that Icelanders and travellers alike make a special trip to Stokkseyri for the soup, or as Fjöruborðið states: People risk their lives in bad weather en route to the village of Stokkseyri for just a few spoonfuls of the soup, with cream, tomatoes, charm and passion. There is no doubt that the soup is worth the trip. Fjöruborðið has earned their great reputation for serving food of the highest standards of quality, freshness and with a combination of both modern-creative and traditional Icelandic way of cooking, whilst creating a setting where you can relax and enjoy your evening to the fullest.

The three-course langoustine menu. The renowned langoustine soup as a first course. 400 or 300 grams of garlic butter sautéed langoustines with trimmings as the main and a dessert of your choice to finish the meal off. So fresh, mouth-watering and delicious that you shouldn’t have to think about this one.

Reviews

Food is fantastic and service is superb. It is well worth the drive out of Reykjavik. We all got the Icelandic lobster and we were not disappointed. They were excellent and cooked in an unbelievable sauce. We also got the meringue cake for dessert (WOW). The food at the restaurant is superb You will not regret your trip out of Reykjavik to this restaurant.
