Valagil is a stunning ravine completed with a majestic waterfall and made from layers upon layers of ancient lava. It is located at the landward end of Álftafjörður. You will find a marked footpath to the ravine from the road. Some say the ravine is named after the falcons which were reported to nest there in past times. Other people believe it is named after a woman called Vala who is said to have fallen to her death in the canyon hundred years ago.
