Flatey

Flatey
Flatey

Flatey's skin features are old, colorful houses that stand on a dusty path. The closer you get to the end of the path, the narrower and crooked it gets. It guides you through the nesting sites of many species of birds, mainly those of the Arctic terns. The small village looks like it could be the set of a movie, but only two families live here all year round. During the summer there are more residents who want to relax here or work in tourism. Then a ferry runs twice a day from Stykkishólmur and Brjánslækur.
