Black Beach Restaurant

The Black Beach restaurant is located by one of the most amazing nature attractions of South Iceland, Reynisfjara. The house was built in 2014 and is an absolute architectural beauty as the building blends into the terrain and rocks from the beach were used as building material. Being only a short walking distance from the basalt formation and the cave Hálsanefshellir, the restaurant offers breathtaking views of the scenic Dyrhólaey and the Atlantic Ocean.

The Black Beach restaurant offers a menu with a variety of options. They offer two kinds of soups every day, served with home baked bread. The soups are rich and nutritious; traditional Icelandic meat soup and they also offer the local turnip soup, made from turnips which are locally grown. Stopped to visit the Black Beach and walked to the restaurant after a chilly afternoon. The food there is locally made and the turnip soup is most excellent! The hospitality is very gracious. Be sure to grab seconds on the soup while enjoying the view of the mid-Atlantic Ocean.
