Glacier Journey

Glacier Journey is a small family-run business, owned by the operated by the couple Laufey and Guðlaugur. They are based in Höfn in Hornafirði, but specialize in tours in the Vatnajökull National Park area on snowmobiles and super jeeps.

Vatnajökull is the largest glacier in Europe and covers around 13% of Iceland. Glacier Journey provides you with the opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy one of the world’s greatest wilderness where you drive in a specially modified Super Jeep or a snowmobile. It’s an excellent way to explore the glacier environment and to enjoy the breathtaking views.

Glacier Journey offers an ice cave tour, snowmobile tour and super jeep tour, to name a few. In the Ice Cave Tour, you’ll have a chance to go into and underneath the glacier and experience the glacier’s beauty from the inside. The Snow Mobile Tour give you the chance to explore the rugged and wild landscapes of the area and takes you to stunningly beautiful valleys with breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks in Iceland. The Super Jeep Tour is an excellent and adventurous way to experience Iceland. You’ll drive 1400 meters up in the mountains and get striking views along the way. The journey itself becomes the adventure when you are travelling in a super jeep.

Laufey and Guðlaugur have an extensive guiding experience in the area. They are very friendly, knowledgeable and are always happy to share information about the glaciers and their impact on our environment.
