If you are looking for something fun to do, we recommend going ice skating at the Reykjavík Ice Skating Hall. During some evenings you can even skate to Top Hits with surround sound and disco lights on the ice. The rink is indoors and is well suited for ice hockey and figure skating. The receptions offer a wide range of equipment that you can rent for a reasonable price and the skating hall is open to the public every afternoon.
Big sports events such as the Scandinavian Cup has taken place in the rink over the last couple of years. In ice-hockey, the rink has hosted the World Championships for both women’s and men’s teams. Other competitions that take place every year in the rink included the figure skating part of the Reykjavík International Games.
The Skating Hall is located in the heart of the city’s sports valley known as Laugardalur. It is within a short walking distance from the Laugardalur Swimming Pool, the Reykjavík Family Park, and the Botanical Garden.
