Seljalandsfoss

Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss

Seljalandsfoss is a unique waterfall in the river Seljalandsá, about 30 kilometres west from Skogar. it is just over 60 metres high, situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by cliffs and green slopes. A footpath leads behind the waterfall at the bottom of the cliff, but with a thin cascade. It is only waterfall known of its kind, where it is possible to walk behind it. We recommend bringing a raincoat as you will get wet from the drizzle, and if you are lucky you might also catch a rainbow. During winter, the walking path is usually closed as its gets too slippery and dangerous to go behind it. The waterfall is well known in Iceland because of its breathtaking beauty and can be found in many books and calendars.
