Deildartunguhver is Europe's strongest hot spring. It produces 180 liters of 100 ° C hot water and could fill a 25m pool in under an hour. Most of the water is used for central heating in the cities of Borganes and Akranes. If you have ever had a hot shower within a 65km radius of the spring, you can say that you have already bathed in Deildartunguhvers water.

As in many other geothermal regions in Iceland, the water from the spring is used to heat the surrounding greenhouses, thereby reducing the growth time of plants and vegetables. During the summer, farmers often set up their stands near the source to sell their produce to visitors.

Only 70m north of the source, geothermal natural pools are developed and built under the name 'Krauma'. With constantly changing facilities that can accommodate up to 140 people, we invite you to step into many different baths, all of which are filled with completely untreated water from Deildartunguhver. There are pools with water from the Rauðsgil gorge to cool off, which is only 5 km away. No chemicals are added to the water, but because it flows out of the spring so quickly, it constantly renews itself and stays clean.
