The Glanni waterfall is in the Norðurá river and is small and picturesque. It is a little hidden away from the main street and is said to be a home for elves and trolls. The way there is well signposted.
The waterfall has at least three adjacent slopes, each of which is split into several smaller ones. The Norðurá River is one of Iceland's most productive waters when it comes to salmon and trout fishing. That is why he is often spoken of as the “Queen of the Rivers”. If you're lucky, you may even see a few salmon trying to jump up the waterfall.
